JUNIA LIVES:

The 1st Woman Apostle Now Speaks To

Apostolic Women
DR. YOLANDA POWELL

In Romans 16:7, the Apostle Paul writes with strong commendation about Andronicus and Junia, who were relatives that served as apostolic leaders in the 1st Century Church. He refers to the duo as “outstanding among the apostles.” Andronicus was male. Junia female. Most biblical scholars believe they were married and both apostles.

Today, this biblical insight is still a disturbing controversy among many church leaders and male preachers who refuse to accept the reality of female leadership in the Kingdom. Yet, the overwhelming evidence among most Greek scholars and many theologians now emphatically conclude, that Junia was the FIRST WOMAN APOSTLE.

As Apostle Axel Sippach, leader of the EPIC Global Network writes, “There are countless pages you can find online with experts undeniably proving this from the Greek. Those opposed are really in the minority now. For 700+ years Junia was the "lost apostle." The lost first "WOMAN" apostle. This conspiracy and religious cover-up have now been exposed.”

Ironically, it appears that most Believers & Followers of ‘The Way’ were aware of Apostle Junia for the first 1200 years of church history. Then around 1300AD Bible translators began to use the male form “Junias” instead of the female “Junia.” Adding the “s” essentially transgendered Junia and ultimately made her a male apostle in most versions of the bible for over 700 years until recent time.

“But Junia was a popular name within Roman culture 2000 years ago and was vastly used in differing forms of literature. However, the male version, Junias (Junius) is not found in contemporary 1st century Roman or Greek literature at all. So, with expert validation, this biblically old coverup and conspiracy has lost its credibility,” as Apostle Sippach writes. Yes! The devil tried it, but his schemes and plots to keep this important woman out of biblical history has utterly failed. We now know who she is and what she represents…The liberation of women worldwide – both in the church and in culture!

So, we rejoice that Apostle Junia is no longer a “hidden figure” buried in the archives of Holy Writ. During the summer of 2018, the 1st Historic & Congressional Summit called, Junia Arise: Apostolic Women on the Frontlines was held. During that Congress (with over 200 delegates) we were able to veto the error and reenact the law of God concerning the woman. It was a massive legislative convening.

During that Summit, the ‘Key of Junia’ was prophetically released in the Nation’s Capital that unlocked the multiple gates were women were held bound and imprisoned—from government and business to media and religion. Ironically, this was done in “The Year of the Woman” as the both violations and victories experienced by women globally hit the nightly news. A new epoch for women’s empowerment was massively forming throughout the earth and the life of Junia was at the forefront of change.

Honestly, where would the church be without faithful women of God? Like Junia, we have always been on the frontlines and in the trenches getting the work done—in service, prayer, hospitality, teaching, discipleship, evangelism, missions and much, much more.

So Junia really is the GAME CHANGER, as THE FIRST WOMAN APOSTLE! And this factual truth heralds the important positioning of women in leadership at the highest levels of Kingdom Government and at every helm imaginable throughout the world. It validates and vindicates the woman in extraordinary ways and soundly repositions her as a vital member in the eternal plans of God Most High.

In 2021, we wrote a teaching devotional for Women in Ministry to introduce them to Junia entitled, JUNIA LIVES: 21 Days to Liberating Leadership for Apostolic Women in a New Frontier. It is an unveiling story of her life and ministry in the 1st century yet, will show women leaders how-to walk-in boldness and authority as Junia did, now in the 21st Century. Women are arising around the globe. We will need resources and instructions to bring us into a new frontier of global transformation and change. No one does that better than Apostle Junia, who speaks from the past to the present; steering us wisely into a great and exciting future as women are revived and restored worldwide.
