She speaks with wisdom, and faithful instruction is on her tongue.

Proverbs 31:26

There is a powerful shift happening in how mothers are leading, not only in their homes, but across classrooms, systems, and communities. Today we honor an extraordinary mother, innovator, and woman of faith who is shaping the future of education and the lives of countless students, Dr. Patricia J. Brown.

Dr. Brown serves as Director of Technology Services for the Ladue School District, where she leads transformative initiatives designed to prepare students for an ever-evolving digital world. With more than twenty five years in education, including years in the classroom, she brings both heart and strategy to her work.

A nationally recognized leader, Dr. Brown currently serves as President Elect of the ISTE+ASCD Board of Directors, helping shape the future of digital learning on a global scale. Her work has earned her distinctions such as Apple Distinguished Educator, Google for Education Certified Innovator, and recognition by the National School Boards Association as one of the “20 to Watch” in education technology.

She is a keynote speaker, thought leader, and creator of impactful initiatives such as IGNITE professional learning and STEAM Fest, inspiring students to think critically, create boldly, and solve real world problems. Yet beyond every title and recognition, she is most proudly a wife and a mom in chief to five sons, a role that grounds her work in faith, purpose, and prayer.

Dr. Brown believes Technology in education is no longer a nice to have. It is a fundamental part of how students learn, create, and prepare for the future. The conversation has shifted. What was once about access to devices has now become something deeper and more important. Are we using technology in meaningful, purposeful ways that truly support learning? Not all screen time is created equal.

There is a difference between passive consumption and active creation. When used with intention, technology enhances engagement, supports personalized learning, builds critical thinking, and expands opportunity. This is where STEAM becomes essential. It is not just about subjects, it is about developing students who can think creatively, solve real world problems, and collaborate across disciplines.

With the rise of artificial intelligence, education has entered a new space of both opportunity and responsibility. Students must learn how to think critically, use these tools ethically, and create with them, not depend on them. Parents are essential partners in this journey. The conversation must move from control to connection. Instead of asking how much screen time, we should begin asking what did you learn, create, or discover today. That question changes everything. Our responsibility is not to prepare students for the past, but for a future that requires adaptability, creativity, critical thinking, and digital fluency. Technology, when used with purpose, does not replace learning. It enhances it.

Dr. Patricia J. Brown is not only advancing education, she is reshaping how we think about learning, access, and opportunity. Her work ensures that students are not just consumers of information, but creators, innovators, and leaders. She stands at the intersection of education, technology, and purpose, guiding both educators and families into a future that demands intentionality and deeper engagement. But what makes her leadership even more powerful is the foundation beneath it.

Her faith.

Her commitment to prayer.

Her understanding that true wisdom, guidance, and vision come from God.

As a mother, she carries that same foundation into her home, covering her children, leading with wisdom, and walking in purpose. She understands that raising sons in today’s world requires not only knowledge, but discernment, strength, and faith.

Her leadership reflects vision.

Her work reflects impact.

In a world that is constantly evolving, mothers like Dr. Patricia J. Brown remind us that true leadership begins with purpose, wisdom, and faith. Through education, innovation, and service, she is helping shape a generation prepared not only for technology and opportunity, but for responsibility, creativity, and meaningful impact.

Her voice is empowering educators.

Her vision is inspiring students.

Her faith is strengthening families and communities.

And through it all, she continues to lead with grace, wisdom, and purpose.

We honor Dr. Patricia J. Brown not only for what she has accomplished, but for the lives she continues to uplift, encourage, and transform every single day.

Her legacy is not only found in leadership.

It is found in the people she inspires along the way.

Happy Mothers Day
