The beautiful Mrs. Nettie Kelley has done it again for her community, expanding her vision and bringing beauty in an even greater way to our region. What makes this moment so powerful is not just the expansion, it is the journey behind it.

Nettie Kelley, wife of Gary Kelley Sr. and mother of Galen Brown and Gary Kelley Jr., has always had a passion for beauty. At just seven years old, she watched her mother, Brenda Armour, apply makeup with such grace and precision. Their home was always filled with beauty, hair, makeup, and creativity, and even as a child, Nettie began practicing and discovering a gift that would one day impact so many lives.

Her journey was not without challenges. As a young mother, she faced real struggles, stepping away from cosmetology school to work full time and provide for her son. In a season where life felt uncertain, she cried out to God and surrendered fully to His will. That decision changed everything. After accepting Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior, Nettie began to seek her purpose. When she asked God what she was called to do, she was led to pursue makeup artistry.

That obedience opened doors. She applied to MAC Cosmetics, was hired, and began a journey that would grow her gift on a global scale. Through dedication and faith, Nettie built a strong clientele, traveled, served on mission trips, and worked on major productions. Her excellence led her to be recognized as one of St. Louis’ finest makeup artists and managers. Her work opened doors to incredible opportunities, including an invitation to dine with Barack Obama and Michelle Obama.

But her vision was always bigger. After thirteen years, she stepped out on faith, leaving MAC to build what God had already placed inside of her, her own brand. Nettie Kelley Cosmetics was born, created for all women, all shades, and all walks of life. Known for her bold, richly pigmented products and signature brow artistry, she built a name that speaks for itself.

Yet even beyond beauty, her true ministry has always been people. Nettie has a unique ability to make women feel seen, confident, and empowered. She has mentored artists, built teams, and created opportunities for others to grow. Her work has been featured across major platforms, and her influence continues to expand.

Now we celebrate her again. With the opening of her new expanded location, she has created more than a beauty space, she has created an experience. A place where makeup, hair, wellness, fashion, and lifestyle meet. A place that welcomes you in, allows you to unwind, and reminds you of your worth.

Through it all, she has remained grounded in faith, walking side by side with her husband, trusting God as her source, and allowing Him to order her steps. This is what it looks like when purpose, perseverance, and faith come together.

Nettie Kelley… what a beautiful place.

“She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come.” Proverbs 31:25

Happy Mother’s Day to All.
