TRANSITION FOR CHANGE EMPLOYMENT PROGRAM

Celebrates Fathers Day

Trees

Father’s Day, we proudly celebrate all fathers including the often-overlooked heroes—our non-custodial fathers who are showing up, stepping up, and staying committed. Through the Urban League of Missouri Transition for Change Employment Services program, these men enrolled are proving that responsible fatherhood is not defined by custody, but by commitment. This program is funded through ARCHS. On June 1, 2025, we started the Father’s Day Celebration month with a dinner and program honoring our participants with special guest and community leaders.

Over the past year, the program has helped many non-custodial parents—primarily fathers—access job training, secure employment, and increase their capacity to consistently support their children financially and emotionally. With guidance from our staff of a program director, case manage and job developer the participants are learning more than just work skills—they’re learning how to rebuild and sustain the foundation of fatherhood.

The program includes more than a good job or meaningful career; it’s about dignity. Every resume updated, every certification earned, every paycheck received—each is a step toward breaking cycles of poverty and disengagement. These fathers are not statistics. They are warehouse workers, delivery drivers, electricians, apprentices, and entrepreneurs. They are men who love their children and are determined to be present in their lives, regardless of the challenges they face.

We know that child support can often feel like a financial burden, but in truth, it's an act of love. It’s a commitment to providing not only financially, but emotionally and spiritually. Our participants are redefining what it means to be a provider. They are proof that with the right support, men can rise above barriers and become the fathers their children need and deserve.

In recognition of this progress, Sam Paige, County Executive of St. Louis County issued a Proclamation honoring the accomplishments of our program and the vital role of non-custodial parents. This acknowledgment reinforces what we already know: when we invest in fathers, we invest in families.

To the fathers in our program: keep going. You matter. Your children are watching, and your efforts are making a difference. To non-custodial parents looking for gainful employment leading you to a career Call 314-782-5607.

This Father’s Day, we salute you—not just for being dads, but for being responsible men.
